H20. Water, we simply can't live without it. Our body is mostly composed of water, in fact 60-70% of our bodyweight is water. So why do so many of us not drink enough water? It’s important to establish a daily “water-habit” to ensure proper hydration for well-being.
What proper hydration does for the body:
- Helps to digest food and deliver nutrients on cellular level
- Flushes out unhealthy toxins and waste within the body
- Key in regulating and controlling body temperature
- Provides hydration to muscles and lubricates joints
- Helps prevent premature aging
- Alleviates Pain
- Aids in weight loss
- Improves blood circulation
- Promotes better sleep
The best thing you can do for yourself to create a healthy water habit is have a glass of water by your bedside. As soon as you wake up, even before you use the bathroom—drink your glass of water.
TIP: Room temperature water really is the best choice as drinking cold water actually shrinks blood vessels and that causes a restriction in digestion.
If drinking plain water through out the day is a struggle for you, try to flavor it with your favorite fruits and vegetables.
A great and simple recipe or technique is to diffuse the fruits or vegetables overnight in the refrigerator. Early in the day before work our going out pour some in a water bottle and bring it with you throughout the day.
